Visiting Foxlight Flower Farm

Instead of picking up the same prescribed bunches of uniformed lilies and gerbera from the supermarket every week, imagine if you could visit an idyllic, peaceful buzzing haven of butterflies, bumblebees and song-birds, deep in the heart of 1066 country…

Pick from every colour, size and variety of cottage garden, wildly beautiful blooms…

What to expect from a Pick Your Own Flower Farm

Flower picking is strictly by appointment only.

Upon your arrival through the Foxlight gates, you’ll be given a bucket and a pair of snips (or you are very welcome to bring your own!).

Simple browse our beds and Pick Your Own stems. The Foxlight family will be on hand to help snip.

When you have filled your bucket, one of the Foxlight family will wrap your blooms in recycled paper and take your payment. Prices are clearly displayed.

We also have Tina The Tea Hut serving pots of loose leaf tea and slabs of home-made cake.

We are a plant based business (LITERALLY), so have plenty of VG, GF and caffeine free options.

Our VG + GF options are clearly labelled. However, they are made in a kitchen that also handles nuts, dairy, and gluten, so if you have an intolerance or allergy, please make us aware. Any eggs we use are laid by our gleefully free-range, back-garden hens (June, Cagney + Lacey).

We gratefully receive cash or card payments.

Getting to Foxlight

We are a bit of a hidden treasure.

Our Postal address is: Foxlight Flower Farm, Honey House Barn, Harts Green and we are down the bottom of a bumpy country lane, to the south of Harts Green in Sedlescombe, TN33 0RS.

W3W: ///coconuts.outline.dragonfly

We are also on Google Maps

The gate to our lane is next to a house called Penny Royal. Mike and his family at Penny Royal are pals, but have nothing to do with the farm, so please be mindful and considerate as you are driving right past their house.

Leave the gate as you find it. So if you need to open the gate, close it behind you.

Drive down the lane (max 5mph) and follow it all the way down until you see a sign for the Farm at the very bottom.

Visitor parking will be clearly sign posted as you drive in, please use the bays provided as this is a working farm and not public property.

Follow our bunting to Foxlight, a 3 minute walk down the field.

We are a working agricultural business and our neighbours have livestock and horses. Please keep any dogs on a lead until you reach the flower field, remember the Countryside Code and please be mindful driving down our beautiful local lanes.

Accessibility information

The flower farm is 500 metres down a steep, grassy and bumpy slope and has small step to enter.

The walkways inside the farm are rough, bare ground.

There are many, MANY, thistles at Foxlight and we don’t recommend flip flops.

Any flower fans with mobility issues, please contact us by DM so we can discuss access options that work for you.

Flower aftercare

We have chosen all our Foxlight flowers for a long vase life (between 5 – 7 days) so you can enjoy your blooms for several days after you visit us.

For best results, visit and cut in the morning, as the flower stems will be fully turgid (‘full of water’ and yes, we know, it’s a horrid word!). Once you get home, pop your stems in a large vase or bucket of cold water in a cool place (I use a corner of the kitchen) for a couple of hours to condition before arranging.

Re-cut your stems with sharp scissors or snips at an angle and remove any leaves or foliage below the water line.

Always use a clean vase (a blast in a dishwasher or hot soapy water keeps vases in the best condition) and change the water every couple of days.

Sit back and enjoy.

Making the most of your visit

Foxlight takes up only a little of our 6.5acres and we welcome you to make the most of your trip to see us.

You are more than welcome to bring a picnic and let the little ones run off some energy! As we are a working agricultural business, we do require you to stay in the bottom field where there is plenty of space for everyone.

We have no running water on Foxlight and our only comfort facility is our camping toilet.

Shade is provided by trees along the edge of the field and please remember sun cream and bottled water just in case!

Local amenities:

Blackbrooks garden centre is 5 minute drive away and has a lovely little cafe. Dog friendly.

The Queens Head pub in Sedlescombe has an incredible fine dining menu and is a 3 minute drive away.

The town of Battle is packed full of independent cafes and boutiques and has a lovely high street. Only 9 minutes drive away, Battle is also home to The Abbey which is well worth a visit if your coming from further afield.
